COLLECTORS CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCO

Constitution (1/9/85)

Article I – Name

The name of this organization shall be the Collectors Club of San Francisco.

Article II – Purpose

The object of the club shall be to promote, study, develop, and encourage philately in all its phases, and when appropriate, publish a record of its research. The club shall be a non-profit organization.

Article III – Officers

The elective officers shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and, together they shall be designated s the Board of Directors.

Article IV – Term of Office

(Revision of November 14, 1981) The officers shall be elected for a period of two years, and may be candidates to succeed themselves. However, the President may not serve more than two consecutive terms in office in any four year period.

Article V – Duties of Officers

The duties of the officers shall be such as usually devolve upon like officials of similar organizations. In the absence of the president, the Vice President, the Secretary, or the Treasurer, in the order named, shall preside.

Article VI – Membership

Any person of good character, interested in philately, is eligible for membership, and may become a member as provided in the By-laws.

Article VII – Classes of Membership

Classes of membership shall be two: Regular and Honorary

Article VIII – Amendments

The Constitution may be amended at any regular meeting by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the regular members present at that meeting, provided that a copy of the said proposed amendment has been sent to the regular members at least thirty days prior to such meeting.

Article IX – Nomination and Election

(Revision of November 14, 1981) Officers shall be nominated at the October meeting. Election, by secret ballot, shall be held at the November meeting. Term of office will end, and new officers shall be installed, at the December meeting.

By-Laws (1/9/85)

Article I – Members

Regular members are those in good standing and they are entitled to all privileges of membership. Honorary members are those whom the membership deem worthy of the honor. They shall not pay dues and shall be entitled to all of the privileges of membership except the rights to vote or hold office.

Article II – Dues

(as adopted November 14, 1981) The annual rate of dues shall be set, and shall be payable at the January meeting each year. Members shall be delinquent if dues are unpaid by March 31st, and shall be dropped from membership if not paid by June 30th.

Article III – Admission to Membership

(revision of January 1979 )Admission to membership shall be by invitation only. Candidates for admission may be proposed by any regular member at any regular or special meeting, with the candidate not in attendance at the meeting. To be accepted into membership, a candidate must first be approved by the membership committee, and then receive a two-thirds affirmative vote of the members present at any meeting. Vote shall be by secret ballot, with the candidate not in attendance at the meeting. Candidates for membership shall not be voted on unless notice of the vote has been sent to each regular member at least two weeks prior to the vote.

Article IV – Committees

All Committee Chairmen shall be appointed by the President.

Article V – Fiscal Year

The fiscal year of the club shall coincide with the calendar year.

Article VI – Meetings

The Collectors Club of San Francisco shall meet the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 PM unless a change of date or a call for a special meeting is announced by the President.

Article VII – Voting

Voting shall be in person. All regular members in good standing shall be entitled to vote.

Article VII – Fiscal Year

The fiscal year of the club shall coincide with the calendar year.

Article VIII – Amendments

These By-Laws may be amended at any regular of specially called meeting of the Club, providing notice of the proposed amendment has been sent to each regular member at least thirty days prior to such meeting.
